A nod to New Edition's classic boy band moves is just one of the reasons we can't wait for B's next clip.

It's only been a week since Beyoncé dropped her frenetic "Countdown" video, but she's already gearing up to hit the eject button on another clip from her 4 album. Some fans got their first taste of "Love on Top" when B debuted it (along with that baby bump!) at the 2011 MTV VMAs. But while she gave the retro-leaning track the doo-wop treatment, sporting a sequined Dolce & Gabbana blazer at the show, she'll revisit another musical era for the video.
New Edition's '80s smash "If It Isn't Love" is the clear inspiration in the 82-second tease of Beyoncé's video. And although the superstar has been doing damage control over claims she referenced another artist's work too liberally in her "Countdown" clip, we only want to see more of how B recharged the Boston boy band's classic choreography.
Check out how the "Countdown" director dealt with B's "special arrival."
Check out our five favorite things from the wisp of a preview, and share yours in the comments section!
If It Isn't 'Love on Top'
N.E.'s 1988 hit from their album Heart Break is a crazy melodic uptempo ballad with singer Ralph Tresvant tackling the lead. In the super spare clip, casually dressed bandmates Tresvant, Ricky Bell, Ronnie DeVoe, Michael Bivins and — taking over for the newly solo Bobby Brown — Johnny Gill turn a dance rehearsal into a stage-worthy triumph. In the sneak peek, B is backed by five T-shirt-rocking male dancers who help her recreate the quintet's smokin' steps. Even her studio, with its multiple window views, looks like it was shot in the exact same spot.
All Hail, King B
While B's head gear may call to mind a certain Ugandan dictator among kids who paid attention in AP History, there's only one power this diva exercises in the land of Beyoncéstan: forcing you to dance.
If the Shoe Fits
Not even pregnancy can keep Beyoncé out of her towering Brian Atwoods. Still, after peeping her in '60s-style ballet flats in the "Countdown" visual, we were just gushing over how the singer paired black nylons and a bodysuit with sneakers. The Ash footwear line's white-soled Biba shoe, to be specific. A new look for B, and we like!
Brook Payne, Bring the Pain
B and her longtime choreographer Frank Gatson Jr. have traveled far and wide when it comes to seeking dance inspiration for her visuals. For "Run the World (Girls)," for instance, the pair famously sent a search team to Mozambique to track down the African Tofo Tofo dancers whose hard-to-replicate steps (captured in YouTube videos) had hypnotized them. But for "Top," B's team turns to the work of Brook Payne, veteran choreographer for New Edition. Payne makes a cameo and delivers the monologue at the top of the N.E. clip — maybe Gatson will too?
When we caught up with the re-formed, six-strong group at the Essence Festival in June, Bobby Brown spoke to MTV News about Payne's mastery and why that footwork has been so often imitated. "It's a lot of things that I'm capable of doing, but New Edition steps, whether you think so or not, they're probably one of the hardest things in dance that you could do," Brown said.
The Diva Fan
Ahh, the diva fan: From "Crazy in Love" to "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)," B seldom hits a video set without it, and it always blows to the left, to the left.
What are you hoping for from B's "Love on Top" video? Tell us in the comments!

'I've listened to their music since I was a child,' says the R&B diva, who recorded 'Stairway to Heaven' and 'Whole Lotta Love.'
By James Montgomery, with reporting by Larry Carroll
You wouldn't peg Mary J Blige as the black-light-and-tapestry sort, but, as has become readily apparent in recent weeks, she absolutely loves Led Zeppelin.
In early February, reports began circulating that Blige had re-recorded Zeppelin's classic "Stairway to Heaven," working with Travis Barker, "American Idol" judge Randy Jackson and guitarist Steve Vai on the track, which is slated to appear on the international reissue of her Stronger With Each Tear album, due Monday.
But after she had recorded "Stairway," Blige continued to get the Led out, covering another Zeppelin classic — the thunderous "Whole Lotta Love" — for the album too. And when MTV News caught up with her on the Essence Black Women in Hollywood red carpet, she told us all about channeling her inner Robert Plant for the tracks, a process that came much easier than you'd probably imagine.
"I did Led Zeppelin's 'Stairway to Heaven' and 'Whole Lotta Love' — it's crazy," she said. "I am a Led Zeppelin fan. I'm not going to say I've been to their concerts, but I've listened to their music since I was a child, and it's always moved me, especially 'Stairway to Heaven,' and 'Whole Lotta Love' is just fun."
Blige also said she recorded another new song — a "club record" called "I Can't Wait" — for the re-release. And while it's only slated to hit shelves outside the U.S., she hopes her fans will get a chance to hear all the new songs pretty soon.
"I want y'all to hear it," she laughed.

Britney Spears expressed her condolences Tuesday (October 25) to the family of a fan who died after attending her concert Monday in Dublin, Ireland.
Siobhan Healy, 31, was on a fairground ride called the Tip Top outside the concert venue when she was thrown to the ground and killed instantly. According to the U.K.'s Daily Mail, Healy had attended Spears' concert earlier in the evening at the nearby O2 arena.
"I was saddened to hear of the tragic accident in Dublin," Spears tweeted Tuesday. "My heart goes out to the family. --Britney"
A family friend told the paper that the accident has devastated the residents of Healy's hometown of Willsborough. "The community is very shocked," Michael McGreal said. "I know her family very well, we are all very upset."
An investigation has been launched to find out what caused the accident, with some speculating that the recent severe weather that has swept through Ireland might have been a contributing factor.
Kenneth McFadden, the owner of the company that runs the Tip Top ride, also expressed his condolences. "We can't say [what happened], it all happened so quick," he said. "We are just in bits at the moment, we are just devastated."
McFadden also told the Daily Mail that he has had the Tip Top ride for nearly five years and never experienced any problems with it.

Lecter's gentlemanly quality and intellect make him stand out over other horror movie murderers.
By Kara Warner

It's time for yet another in-depth profile in our creepy crypt of horror movie killers for MTV's Killer Halloween, a competition in which we ask you, the best and brightest fans, to vote for the best and scariest movie murderer ever.
We've already provided a handy guide to the gory details surrounding Freddy Krueger, Jason, Leatherface, Michael Myers, Chucky, Ghostface and Jigsaw. Now it's time to take a look at the man the American Film Institute named the number-one villain of the last 100 years.
Name: Dr. Hannibal Lecter
Occupation: Psychiatrist, cannibal, serial killer
Weapons: Teeth, intellect, items purchased from the Williams-Sonoma catalog
Archenemy: People who annoy him, the FBI, bad taste
Profile: Smart, serene and sinister, Hannibal Lecter is easily the most gentlemanly of the killers we've included in our survey. Created by author Thomas Harris in a series of horror novels first published in 1981, and later immortalized by Anthony Hopkins' Oscar-winning portrayal in "The Silence of the Lambs," Lecter has won millions of fans for his creep factor and cunning ways. Not to mention his way with words:
"A census taker once tried to test me. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti." — Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter in "The Silence of the Lambs"
Horror movie expert Ryan Turek, Managing Editor of ShockTillYouDrop.com, told MTV News that Lecter's main appeal is his cool exterior.
"Hannibal is the gentleman's bogeyman. A class act in a pool of ragged, obvious-looking killers," Turek said. "He's unassuming in physicality but absolutely lethal. He'll outsmart you at every turn and serve you up for dinner. His terror factor lies in the fact that lurking behind his amiable face is something incredibly deranged. That pleasant British fellow? Oh, yeah, he wants to split your skull open and fry your brains on an open skillet."
Turek added that Lecter also has a certain finesse with regard to what types of individuals are to become his victims.
"Hannibal eats the jerks or those who at least catch on to who he is. I can't imagine him suppressing his cannibalistic side in a theater of people text-messaging during a movie."
Check out everything we've got on "The Silence of the Lambs."

It's shaping up to be a busy weekend at the box office and our partners at Movie Fanatic have reviewed all the new offerings in advance of their Friday openings.
Let's get right to it, shall we?
In Time: Justin Timberlake headlines this action packed, sci-fi thriller from Gattaca mastermind Andrew Niccol. It's a true mind-bender that asks the question:
What if money was replaced by time?
Amanda Seyfried co-stars in a movie that will make you think much of the time without wasting a second of yours. Check out Movie Fanatic's In Time review.
The Rum Diary: This Johnny Depp picture is not a blockbuster for everyone, but for fans of the star and the late Hunter S. Thompson, The Rum Diary delivers.
As Movie Fanatic's Rum Diary review notes, it's a work that blends powerful messages with complex performances from its cast and an exquisite '60s feel.
Puss in Boots: An odds-on favorite to run away from the box office competition, Antonio Banderas brings his swashbuckling Shrek character back for the lead role.
Adventurous, sweet and uncannily smart in its introduction of new characters such as Kitty Softpaws (Salma Hayek) and Humpty Dumpty (Zach Galifianakis), Puss’ origins story takes audiences back to the beginning and is fun for all ages.

The Double: Richard Gere and Topher Grace star in a CIA thriller about an agent (Gere) who retired after spending a career tracking an international assassin.
Anonymous: Screenwriter John Orloff, after extensive research, presents Anonymous and its idea that William Shakespeare did not write all his masterpieces.
While clearly different, Anonymous also falls under "origins" stories with Rum and Puss in Boots. Read Movie Fanatic's full Anonymous review for more insight.

'Me and my gay best friend just danced until 8 a.m.,' Ke$ha tells MTV News.

It's prom season, and that means high schoolers across this great land will be renting tuxes, buying fancy dresses and negotiating the details of their curfews with parents. So, before you take your pictures and get in your limos, we asked some Hollywood A-listers to recall their fondest prom memories.
"I had a great prom," Ne-Yo told MTV News. "I didn't get to go with who I wanted to go with. I got my second choice, but my second choice turned out to be the one I was supposed to be there with, so it turned out good."
Ke$ha, never one to say no to a party, had the best night of all her friends. "I went to prom with my gay best friend, and let me tell you, I had way more fun than anybody else at a prom with their boyfriends," she recalled. "Everybody else was, like, crying and drama and breaking up, and me and my gay best friend just danced until 8 a.m."
"Hellcats" star Aly Michalka doesn't have a favorite prom memory — because she never went to prom. "I was homeschooled, so I don't even think we had a fake prom," she lamented. "Like, maybe we had a home-school prom and I wasn't invited?"
While everything always seems to be in peril on "The Vampire Diaries," star Nina Dobrev had a less tumultuous night: "Having everyone get together and such a final celebration [is what I remember]."
Romeo went big for his prom. "My senior prom, I remember I pulled up in my red Ferrari. I was feeling like James Bond," he said. "And it was one of the best nights of my life."
"My favorite prom memory was probably going shopping for a dress, and our boyfriends at the time dressed up as 'Dumb & Dumber,' " Audrina Patridge laughed. "And so we were like, 'We can't dress up dorky ... we have to look good.' "
Roots drummer ?uestlove made a big decision on the night of his prom: "June 2, 1989, was my very last haircut; prom haircut, totally butchered my hair. He butchered my hair, and I vowed never again to ever get in a barber chair, so I grew that Afro on my prom night."
Adam Lambert said his prom date was a 10, so he definitely had a fun night. "I had a great prom. I had an awesome time," he said. "I went with one of my best friends in high school. Her name was Lauren, and she was really hot. She wore a really hot red dress, so I felt like I had arm candy."
